Welcome Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter finally made his return to Southeastern Minnesota yesterday. A lot of people I know do not like snow and are perfectly happy with a winter of light snow. I, however, love the snow as long as I don't have to shovel it!

In my estimation, we recieved 4 or 5 inches of snow and about an inch of freezing rain. Shortly after the storm began we headed out for a few essentials (a rented DVD and hot dogs!) When the worst of it hit, we were hunkered down watching a movie.

Before the ice and freezing rain hit, Madison and I went out to play in the snow for a few minutes. The wind made it too cold to stay out for long.

Madison had to wear her pink sunglasses with her boots, snowpants, and hat and mittens. Doesn't it just complete the look? If you rememer last winter, Madison was terrified of the snow. She still isn't too sure about it, but she is learning to tolerate it.

This is Madison enjoying her first cup of hot chocolate. Yummy!
