Lee Family All American 4th of July

We enjoyed the most perfect fourth of July ever! Mike and I took a few days off of work and enjoyed a long weekend at the Dobbeleare's seasonal camper in Richmond MN. Well, it would have been perfect if it weren't for the minor mechanical issue with the Explorer. It turned out to be something little and was easily fixed, but did make us worry as we were pulling the boat and driving a long distance from home.

Madison and Cameron had a blast playing with the twins, Kendall and Sydney.

Cameron loved playing in the lakes and in the kiddie pool at Chad and Jodi's campsite. He really is starting to enjoy the water. He even enjoyed munching on sand and rocks from the beach! His little hands were too quick for this Mamma to stop him.

The campground is on the Sauk River Chain of Lakes. We spent three fabulous days on the boat with our dear friends - and had a blast! Chad and Jodi also have an old jet ski that we would take with us and we all enjoyed goofing around with it in the water.

On Sunday, we took a day trip on the boat to a place called the Rock. It is a giant rock (think Alcatraz) in the middle of a lake. About 300 yards away, is a small island. Between the rock and the island is a nice sandbar. It is a long trip by boat - it is several lakes away. If it were just us, it would probably only take about 45 minutes to get there, but we went with other friends who have a pontoon. Travelling in a group, with a slower boat took a lot longer. It just gave us more time to enjoy the water and the sun though! We beached the boat and let the kids play in the sand and water. The adults munched on snacks and enjoyed a few cold brewskis.

Madison did not enjoy the fireworks at all. She cried through them and kept asking to go back to the camper.

Now for the funny part of my post. On the day that we went to the Rock, I was playing in the water with Cameron. Madison was running around and playing and everyone was sort of keeping an eye on her. At one point, I looked up to see her standing in the middle of a group of people that had also beached at the Rock. There were about four adults and they had a bunch of kids running around. This is how it all went down:

Mommy: Madison, what are you doing?

Madison: ***In a voice loud enough to wake the dead*** Mommy, I'm going POTTTTTYYYYYY!!!!!!

Mommy: **Obviously mortified*** Madison, we don't go potty right in the middle of people you don't know, get in the lake!!!!

Madison proceeded to take three steps into the water and pee'd right there in front of God and everyone.

Of course, her father had conveniently diappeared and I was left alone with my complete and utter embarassment.
